Technical Parameter Requirements For Surge Protectors Installed On 35kv Lines

The technical parameters of metal oxide surge protective device insulators installed on 35kV lines generally must meet the following requirements:
① Continuous operating voltage (RMS) not less than 40.8kV;
② Rated voltage (RMS) of surge protector insulators not less than 51kV;
③ DC 1mA reference voltage not less than 73kV (range: 73-74kV);
④ Residual voltage (peak value) at a standard discharge current of 5kA not greater than: 134kV for lightning impulse, 114kV for switching impulse, and 154kV for steep wave impulse.
⑤ 2000μs square wave current (peak value) 200A.
⑥ surge protection device insulation configuration, determined based on the line pollution level requirements.
