"v" Type Connection Of Surge Protector
Installation Method for surge protective device: A "V" connection is recommended.
The residual voltage at both ends of surge protector is ULPE = U1 + Up. The shorter connecting wires significantly reduce the voltage drop caused by surges (experiments have shown that a 1m wire under a 20kA, 8/20us waveform produces a voltage drop of 1kV). This also reduces the voltage applied to the equipment, thus providing protection.
The connecting wires for surge protection device should be as short and straight as possible, with the lead length at both ends not exceeding 0.15m to minimize the induced voltage and reduce residual voltage. The connecting conductors should conform to the requirements of yellow, green, and red for the phase conductor, light blue for the neutral conductor, and green/yellow for the protective conductor.
