Surge Protector Lightning Testing
surge protective device Lightning Polarity Test
This type of surge protector test method is to discharge the blade positively and negatively 30 times each. The result shows that the number of times the positive discharge did not hit the flash lamp was 0, and the capture rate was 100%. On the other hand, the number of times the negative discharge did not hit the flash lamp was 9, and the capture rate was 70%.
From these surge protection device experiments, important conclusions were drawn.
(1) Lightning may directly hit the blade surface instead of the flash.
(2) The blade tip prefix is more likely to capture lightning.
(3) Positive lightning tends to hit the blade surface and negative lightning tends to hit the flutter.
